Raytheon Company, together with its subsidiaries, provides electronics, mission systems integration, and other capabilities in the areas of sensing, effects, and command, control, communications, and intelligence systems, as well as mission support services in the United States and internationally. It operates in six segments: Integrated Defense Systems, Intelligence and Information Systems, Missile Systems, Network Centric Systems, Space and Airborne Systems, and Technical Services. Raytheon Corp. (NYSE: RTN) is also Neutral-rated at UBS. Despite large contract sales to the Saudi’s, the company may very well be another valuation call from the UBS team. Raytheon is also trading right near 52-week highs. Investors are paid a 2.3% dividend. The UBS price target is $90, and the consensus target is $97.28. Raytheon closed Wednesday at $95.16.

Actually, for investors in Raytheon (NYSE: RTN ) stock, there may be a couple of those, too. If you think back to January's PAC-3 contract announcement, for example, Lockheed's big Patriot win was followed in quick succession by a series of three Patriot contract wins for Raytheon. All three were classified as "foreign military sales," and while the destination of the sales was not stated in any of them, I think we can take a wild guess that sand and sun were involved.

On the other hand, traditional defense contractors are still earning money by working for the Pentagon. On Tuesday, Raytheon (NYSE: RTN ) was awarded a $35.2 million order for AN/ALE-50 towed decoys, which aircraft can deploy to distract incoming missiles. Raytheon is expected to complete deliveries on this contract by March 31, 2015.

The Department of Defense awarded Raytheon (NYSE: RTN ) two contractson Monday worth a combined $48.2 million.
In the larger of the two awards, Raytheon's Company Network Centric Systems unit will receive $34 million as a contract modification funding continued development and testing of engineering development models for air and ground fixed and transportable "command post terminals" for the Presidential and National Voice Conferencing (PNVC) communications system. PNVC is "a satellite-based, worldwide, survivable, secure, and near toll-quality voice conferencing capability for the President, Secretary of Defense, Cha! irman, Jo! int Chiefs of Staff, and other senior national/military leaders." Work on this contract should be completed by October 2013.
