What do small cap stocks MKS Instruments, Inc. (NASDAQ:MKSI), Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc. (NYSE:SKT), and Kaman Corporation (NYSE:KAMN) have in common? Absolutely nothing, on the surface, and no, it's not a setup for painfully bad punchline. There is a common thread among KAMN, SKT, and MKSI right now, however... they're all three going into my mental (though publicly-tracked) portfolio this afternoon.
The next obvious question: Where did I come up with Kaman Corporation, MKS Instruments, and Tanger Factory Outlet Centers? I'll be the first to admit I have a penchant for the obscure, but don't let their size fool you. I found the small cap stocks when performing a routine (weekly) scan of equities that meet a strict set of technical and fundamental criteria. The latter tells me which stocks to but, while the former tells me when.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By James E. Brumley]
If the names Axxess Unlimited Inc. (OTCMKTS:AXXU) and MagneGas Corporation (NASDAQ:MNGA) ring a bell, it might be because yours truly posted some bullish thoughts on both names earlier this week. Although neither small cap stock had done everything they needed to do in order become a fully bullish trade at the time, both MNGA and AXXU have cleared those hurdles in the meantime. So, in case you forgot (or in case you missed the first look), an updated review of Axxess Unlimited and MagneGas is merited.

Even if you're one of the few reading this now, odds are good that you'd still never heard of Axxess Unlimited Inc. (OTCMKTS:AXXU) until the beginning of February. Prior to that, trading in AXXU was thin and uneventful. The evidence? Prior to February 4th, the average daily volume was less than 10,000 shares per day, and had been stuck right around the $0.20 mark since the middle of last year. Since February 4th, though, things have changed for the better. Since then, volume has been considerably stronger, and Axxess Unlimited shares have finally woken up and decided to forge ahead.

A week and a half ago, yours truly penned some bullish thoughts on Axxess Unlimited Inc. (OTCMKTS:AXXU). Not too many traders read that take, and/or if they did, they didn't seem to care. The response to the commentary was non-existent (good or bad), and there was no sudden rush to go out and buy AXXU. Today's second look may have a different outcome.

www.gopro.com Plenty of stocks go up and down in any given week. The gainers inspire us to keep investing. The decliners keep greed in check while reminding us about the risks of the equity markets. Let's go over some of last week's best and worst performers. TubeMogul (TUBE) -- Up 47 percent last week The biggest winner among Nasdaq-listed stocks was TubeMogul, surprising the market with a profit in its first quarter as a public company. TubeMogul is trying to raise the bar when it comes to online video advertising, and its first time out with fresh financials is impressive. Revenue more than doubled, and TubeMogul's profit of 4 cents a share flabbergasted the pros, who were bracing for a deficit of 15 cents a share. Its guidance suggests that TubeMogul will revert back to a deficit during the next two quarters, but the market was still impressed by the healthy revenue and ad spend growth in its outlook for the balance of the year. GoPro (GPRO) -- Up 20 percent last week The leading maker of wearable cameras is going to the dogs. GoPro moved higher after introducing a new canine camera harness. GoPro's Fetch is a harness that offers a pair of mount locations for GoPro's high-def HERO cameras. The adjustable mount can be worn by dogs as small as 15 pounds, but it remains to be seen if PETA and other animal activists object to having cameras mounted on canines in the first place. Mobileye (MBLY) -- Up 15 percent last week Self-driving cars may be closer than we think. Shares of Mobileye -- a Jerusalem-based leader in camera-based advanced driver assistance systems, moved higher after analysts initiated coverage with favorable ratings. Barclays Capital (BCS), Citigroup (C), Morgan Stanley (JPM) and Robert W. Baird were among the analysts chiming in on the recently public company with upbeat outlooks. And Sturm, Ruger certainly isn't alone trying to manage this enviable problem; last month, fellow firearms manufacturerSmith & Wesson (NASDAQ: SWHC ) sealed a record year with its solid fiscal fourth-quarter earnings report. In fact, Smith & Wesson's own 38% quarterly sales growth stood nearly identical to Sturm, Ruger's most recent revenue increase, while Smith & Wesson's net income rose an even more impressive 63%.
- [By Rich Duprey]
Even the big guns in gunmaking, Sturm, Ruger (NYSE: RGR ) andSmith & Wesson Holding (NASDAQ: SWHC ) , are taking hardcore stands on the issue. Ruger will be making its first major expansion in 25 years not in Connecticut, where it's been located since 1949, but in North Carolina, and both Ruger and Smith & Wesson will stop selling semiautomatic weapons because of that state's newly enacted law requiring "microstamping," theembedding of a unique code on a gun's firing pin that gets "stamped" on a bullet casing when fired.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By John Udovich]
Monster Beverage Corp (NASDAQ: MNST), a mid cap marketer and distributor of energy drinks and alternative beverages, has been a monster of a performer since the end of the financial crisis as the stock is up around 308% over the past five years, but could new or overlooked players like small cap beverage stocksJones Soda Co (OTCMKTS: JSDA), Celsius Holdings, Inc (OTCMKTS: CELH) and Konared Corp (OTCBB: KRED) repeat that performance? A look strictly at the long term performance of all three small caps might have you thinking otherwise. After all, none of these small cap beverage stocks are profitable whilethe beverage industry can be a long hard expensive slog just to increase market share by one or two points when you are competing for shelf space with industry giants like Pepsi and Coke. But past performance is just thatthe past and only part of the story as there is much more to consider about these small cap beverage stocks which could also make them potential acquisition targets by larger beverage players seeking to expand their product line up with innovative products:
